• Question: who knew the time when they made the clock?

      They decided on the position of the sun and with the use of sun dials I imagine..

      Yeah that’s how it was done…that’s why the time is different in different places around the world – because the sun appears to be in a different place in the sky!

      Just think about how you define a day and night – using the sun! So you can use the movement of the sun across the sky to define the middle of the day (and the middle of the night) and from there keep dividing until you get the system for time we have! I reckon we should all switch to decimal time but it might be tricky…

      A clock doesn’t measure time.. it measures angles which we infer the time.

      Mind. Blown. Right?
