Hi Olivia! Well in my job we are responsible for the safety of patients having MRI scans. An MRI scanner uses a giant magnet to generate images. Because the magnet is so large and strong, it can be dangerous to enter the scanner room with any metal. The metal could be attracted to the magnet and fly out of your hand. This becomes a problem for patiernts with bits of metal implanted in their bodies (eg replacement hip, heart valves etc) so our job is to read the patients medical history and find out exactly what and where the metal is, so we can deceide if its safe or not. Patient notes are usually on paper and are very messily written. If I could change one thing it would be to have all patients notes in electronic form!
