I don’t think anyone really knows the answer! Some think that there is no reason why we dream while others do believe there is a reason.

My dreams are really weird.. I once told Alan Shearer that I would manage Newcastle united.. go figure that out. If a scientist out there can tell me why I have weird dreams I would be happy!

I think dreams are related to emotions, thought, ideas etc. But I can’t say why we have them. I know that dreams only happen when you are at a certain part of the sleep cycle. So I would think it is a physical thing as well.

You know like we have involuntary muscles movement? Like the muscles of our ureters, heart and intestines?

So i would guess that dreams are an involuntary function of the brain. Something we can’t control (at least partially). 🙂

Hope that helps! Again that’s my opinion! Not scientific!

Why do we dream? We dream because we hope for a better future 🙂

Haha very cheesy! But I guess that’s one answer to your question.

The real answer is because there must be an evolutionary benefit to it. I don’t really know anything about this subject, but I guess we make sense of the world when sleeping and dreaming is part of that, so maybe we have to dream in order to learn?
